As we end another successful and very challenging year, we would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has made a difference to AWSN and our goals in 2021.  We have said goodbye to some valued volunteers and welcomed new team members, received generous corporate donations, donations of time to staff our fundraising casino and funds from individuals in our greater community.

Funding and Scholarship Opportunities

The Government of Alberta has launched their Women in STEM Scholarship program, offering 50 women the opportunity to access a $2500 scholarship. Application deadline is December 31, 2021. See eligibility and application info here.
 
Volunteer Opportunities

AWSN is looking for volunteers interested in joining the Communications team! We are looking for people interested in social media marketing, content creation, and graphic design, as well as general communications tasks. Contact us at info@awsn.org for more information.

WISEST is gathering interested volunteers for a virtual mentoring panel for high school students in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division, which covers the schools in Jasper National Park all the way to Grande Cache. If you are an interested STEM student (undergraduate, graduate) or STEM professional (academic, industry, postdoc, etc.), find more info here.

MentorUp Alberta is seeking new leadership for their Edmonton base to carry on their great record of engaging events for Alberta STEM professionals. Contact mentorupedm@gmail.com for more details.
