Co-Communications Executive (Volunteer Position)


The main objective to develop and support consistent branding of the organization. The results produced by the communications leads are generally the first point of contact and possibly the only point of contact for the public as well as potential volunteers, sponsors and members. As a result, this role plays a crucial role in the reputation and public opinion of the AWSN.

Time Requirement: 4 hrs/week

Overseeing Committees:

  • Web Design
  • Newsletter
  • Marketing
    • Social Media
    • Creative Content/copywriter
    • Graphic Design
    • Public Relations/coordinator

Responsibilities, Tasks, Activities include:

  • The main responsibilities of this role involve the overseeing of the above committees
  • Assisting in recruitment and training of volunteers for the above committees
  • Implement essential communications needs, particularly when volunteers are unavailable within the committees
  • Be a liaison between the communications committees, executive and board

Beneficial Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Background or understanding of one or all of the following: branding, communications, public relations
