Socially Distant Walk to see the Calgary Tower Lit Purple

Event Description:

We can't share cupcakes this year but you can join members of AWSN for a socially distant walk to see the Calgary Tower lit purple for WinSTEM Week!

At 6:30 pm we'll meet at the western end of the Crescent Road Covid-19 Road Closure.  We'll follow the road closure east along the top of McHugh Bluff, jog north at 1st St. NW to 7th Ave, cross Centre St. at the 7th Ave crosswalk and travel south through Rotary Park to the Mt. Pleasant Viewpoint overlooking downtown.

Each participant in the walk will be able to add 3 km to their WinSTEM Week Run for Equality kilometer tally!  Please bring a mask with you as social distancing maybe be more challenging along the 7th Ave portion of the walk.

If you can only join us briefly to see the Calgary Tower lit purple, we'd love to see you at the Mt. Pleasant Viewpoint at 7:00 pm.  You can park on the eastern side of Rotary Park along 1st ST. NE.

Meet at the intersection of Crescent Road NW and 6A Street NW where the Covid-19 road closure starts.  (The closest address is 702 6A St. NW, Calgary, AB, T2M 4A6.)

The destination is the Mt Pleasant View Point, Calgary, AB, T2E 6R2 in Rotary Park, which is just east of Centre Street N above the Centre Street Bridge.

We will make the return walk to the starting point for a total round trip journey of 3.2 km.
