Dr. Leslie Reid is a truly impactful mentor to women (and others), from high school girls to undergraduate students to postdoctoral fellows to faculty and staff members in the STEM fields. Leslie is the associate dean, teaching and learning, in the Faculty of Science, a role she has held since 2012. She has been with the University of Calgary since 2001, where she started as a graduate teaching fellow in the Department of Geoscience. She has been awarded an Excellence in Educational Leadership Award from the University of Calgary, is a member of the Taylor Institute Teaching Academy and was a 3M National Teaching Fellow in 2011, the most prestigious teaching award in Canada. Leslie holds a BSc (with honours, Geology) from the University of Ottawa, and a MSc (structural geology) and PhD from the University of Calgary. Leslie is an accomplished leader and has made exceptional contributions to teaching and learning during her tenure at the University of Calgary. Leslie Reid was nominated for the Minerva Mentoring Award.
