Madeleine Jensen-Fontaine, P.Chem., Board Member, Retention

Madeleine's interest in science started at a young age and it continues to influence her life path. She completed her BSc at McGill and her MSc at the University of Alberta, both in chemistry. Why chemistry? Because of all the colours! She has worked in university teaching and research labs as well as quality control in both oil & gas and pharma. She received her Professional Chemist designation in 2014. She has seen and experienced the challenges that women and people with advanced degrees face when in the workforce.

Madeleine volunteers with a variety of STEM organizations that range from getting kids excited about science with ASN (Alberta Science Network), to assisting STEM graduate students and early career professionals advance their careers through WISER (Women in Science, Engineering and Research). She sits on the CCWESTT board (Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology) as director at large.
